Albufeira
Is perhaps the most charming of tourist towns in the Algarve, it has
managed to keep the essence of the fishing village that it once was,
while providing the facilities that tourists require. It is a mixture of
old and new with narrow Algarvian streets, partly tiled houses and the
newer apartment buildings painted in bright colours.
Villas and apartments
both for rent and for sale are in
abundance there tourist hotels. The permanent population of Albufeira is
a little over 35,000 but there can be as many as 300,000 there at the
height of the summer. These extra visitors make for a vibrant night life
with restaurants and bars catering for all tastes. Albufeira is very
popular with a high percentage of tourists coming back time after time
so the rental market is buoyant and is set to remain so.
Faro airport
is 40 minutes away and hasflights from destination
all over the world.
Albufeira
is a good base to explore the region from, as it is fairly centrally
located and is very well connected to several golf courses and beaches.
