Cape St. Vincent

Is the western most tip of Portugal it is in the Municipality of Sagres and is a beautiful mystical and holy place stretching back to Neolithic times. The village of Sagres is only six kilometers away. The magnificent cliffs tower more than 70 meters above the ocean and are home to a great number of birds including some rare breeds.

From the Neolithic standing stones to the Roman belief that this was a sacred place to more recent Catholic beliefs this place is steeped in history, the area was also a target for Pirates and indeed by none other than Sir Francis Drake. There is now a lighthouse which is still an important shipping marker the lighthouse itself is built over the remains of a convent, there has been many famous and historical buildings the in the past however most of them where completely destroyed in the great earthquake of 1755.

Because Cape St. Vincent is a highly popular tourist attraction any property in Cape St Vincent is likely to be highly prized but is a truly stunning place to visit or to live.
